FAQs

How Long Does a Microblading Appointment Take?

The microblading procedure lasts about two hours, depending on the patient’s desired results. A topical anesthetic is applied to the eyebrows at the start of the appointment to numb the area and increase patient comfort. Collaboratively, we will work to determine the best means to create your ideal results. Measurements and guidelines are used to ensure symmetrical, accurate and balanced results.
Once the numbing agent has set in, then we begin applying the pigment using the handheld needle pen. The tool is scraped across the eyebrows to allow the ink to penetrate the top layer of the skin and darken the eyebrows. Once the desired shape and thickness has been achieved, the appointment is over and you are free to return to your daily routine.
A second appointment is necessary to provide a touch-up to the eyebrows since a portion of the ink will not settle into the skin. The touch-up appointment is normally completed about one month following the initial treatment.

How Long Does Microblading Last?

Microblading is a semi-permanent treatment, with most patients experiencing results for one to three years. The procedure can be performed as necessary for sustained results. Recommended maintenance appointments every 12 months to keep your brows looking shapely and well-defined for years to come.

What is Microblading Recovery Like?

Microblading is a safe and gentle treatment that produces minimal side effects. You may experience some mild redness or bleeding immediately following your appointment. Your eyebrows will scab over after about five days and will continue to heal for two weeks. Your eyebrows will also appear darker in color than desired, but they will continue to fade to the optimal shade over the first several weeks as some of the pigment is washed out.
Results are apparent immediately following the appointment, although they may not be visible due to scabbing and other side effects. Final results are typically visible in about six weeks, as the touch-up appointment is necessary to fill in areas that may fade at first.
